Hi there, I'm Rachel...
I’m a photographer and visual artist who’s passionate about exploring the world and living a creative life. My photographs and artwork have appeared in art galleries, TV, books, magazines, and have been created into homewares, stationery and art and craft products.
At age 10, I earned my first camera by cooking for the shearer's on my mother's property. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Art (Photography) degree in 1994. During my degree, I studied printmaking, fibre arts (bookbinding & paper making), painting and illustration, and chose photography as my major. I now combine my love of art, photography and travel by designing products for Darkroom Door and teaching workshops in art journaling, paper craft and mixed media.
I'm a Ranger Certified Instructor, and have enjoyed being a TV presenter on Scrap-it TV and QVC UK.
I currently live near the ocean on the NSW Central Coast with my husband, Stewart, our two teenage children, Ethan and Zoe, and our cute dog Sally.
I’m so happy you’re here!
One of my greatest joys is being surrounded by creative energy, and that is exactly what happens in one of my workshops or events! There's something magical about it - watching ideas grow, seeing an a-ha moment when a new technique or idea takes shape, and most of all, encouraging everyone to relax and play. I love sharing my creative ideas, but most of all, I love encouraging creativity in others. It's good for the soul and I love being a part of it!
Life long friendships are oftened formed from meeting like minded people, going to new places and trying different techniques, all the while creating art and having fun!
I'd love for you to join me in one (or more) of my creative workshops!
